Redlands & Cleveland Queensland

Redlands & Cleveland Queensland

Just 30 minutes from Brisbane’s CBD, but light years away from the stress and pressure of major cities, the Redlands is ideally located for people who want to escape for rest and relaxation.

The Grand View Hotel at Cleveland Point, built in 1851 by Francis Bigge and originally named the “Brighton Hotel”. The house is built of brick and contains seven large rooms besides kitchen and servants apartments. A deep verandah runs around the house and all doors and windows are fitted with venations. It is delightfully situated and commands an extensive view of Moreton Bay and of its many islands.

It’s Queensland’s oldest licensed hotel and the locals call it the G.V. – overlooking North Stradbroke Island. The ideal base from which to explore the Redlands area, the Heritage Precinct of Cleveland Point and the famous islands of Moreton Bay in Queensland’s Great South East. Also at the Grandview is Queensland’s Oldest Banyan Fig Tree.
