NSW's
newest attraction, The Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk, ia
now opened to the public. The Fly is an elevated steel
walkway through the canopy of lush rainforest. It's 500m
in length, showcasing an unseen aspect of the rainforest
from the only steel tree top walk in NSW. The canopy walk
takes around 40 minutes providing extraordinary views of
the south coast and hinterland, and is easily accessed
via a walking track through the trees.
One will be awed by the spectacular views you get when on
the walk. Perched on the escarpment in the Southern
Highlands, the Illawarra Fly provides unprecedented views
of the coastline, Illawarra lake and expansive valley
floor.
For those who are more adventurous, there's a 45 metre
tower mid way on the Fly tree top walk. It's perched on
top of the escarpment and provides unbelievable views.
It's something to be experienced - it's the highlight of
the walk, you can see for miles, and the southern
coastline and distant hinterland looks amazing from up
here.
Not only are the surrounding views spectacular, it's a
haven for native flora and fauna in the tree tops. People
get to experience life in the canopy, unseen from down
below. The walk is one of a kind here in NSW. Illawarra
Fly is located in the Illawarra Ranges, at Knights Hill,
Robertson on the escarpment, near Mittagong.
